Hi, You're welcome Here

My name is Tara White, and I have been a Registered Nurse in Ontario for over 16 years. Throughout my career, I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of healthcare settings, ranging from a small rural hospital with 14 inpatient beds and a seven-bed emergency department to a busy urban operating room. These diverse experiences have shaped my nursing practice and reinforced the importance of providing safe, evidence-informed, and patient-centered care.

I currently work full-time as an Infection Prevention and Control (IPAC) Practitioner at Quinte Health, where I support quality improvement initiatives, surveillance, outbreak management, and education to help create safer healthcare environments. I also continue to work casually in the Operating Room—a specialty that has always held a special place in my nursing career and continues to fuel my passion for perioperative practice.
Outside of work, I am a proud single mother to two wonderful daughters who keep life busy, rewarding, and full of adventure. When I have free time, I enjoy spending time with all of my fur and reptile babies, attending hot fitness and yoga classes, tackling home improvement projects, and spending time outdoors. Whether I'm exploring Ontario's provincial parks, practicing archery with my compound bow, or planning my next DIY project, I enjoy activities that challenge me, encourage continuous learning, and help me maintain balance between my personal and professional life.

This ePortfolio reflects my learning journey through the Master of Health Studies program at Athabasca University. It showcases my professional growth, academic work, curated healthcare resources, and reflections on current and emerging issues in Canadian healthcare. I hope it demonstrates not only my commitment to lifelong learning but also my passion for advancing evidence-informed practice and improving patient outcomes.
